eczema /rash question
DD is 3. she is suffering from what I assume to be like an eczema rash. Dry , red patchines on various parts of the body. If I slather her with Aquafor it goes away...but the minute I stop putting it on it comes right back. She is complaining its itchy. Maybe its from change of seasons/weather?
Do I just continue putting aquafor on? Or is it something I should take her to the ped for and maybe get an Rx cream?

Re: eczema /rash question
it was suggested to me to use hydrocortisone cream - i think that's the name and i used it on emma and the redness went away!
i got the target one and after about 2 days she was fine!

Re: eczema /rash question
Besides applying hydrocortisone, the most important thing is to keep her skin hydrated.
Don't give her hot baths or keep her in too long. After the bath, apply moisturizing lotion to her body as soon as possible to seal the moisture into the skin.

Re: eczema /rash question
i think i would ask the dr about it.
if it is eczema, DS has it too and these are some of the things we do: baking soda int eh bath 100% cotton clothes, especially pajamas not too many baths, and short baths dove sensitive skin body wash for soap
we used every lotion we could find. Just like you, it would kind of keep it under control - but once you don't use it, it's rght back. Finally we went to the pediatric dermatologist and he gave us a prescription. That is what really made the difference. Now we just maintain by doing the above. DS is a million times better. Good luck!!!!!!!!!!
