Edgepark Breastpump question----can they bill me later even though they said it's covered?
I saw something about someone who got a breastpump, Edgepark told them it was 100% covered through thri insurance and shipped it and then after she started using it she got a EOB from her insurance company for $549 for the breastpump... If they ship it and tell you it's covered (I know they take 2-3 days to verify your deductible has been met---mine has both deductible and co-insurance) and you receive it, can they bill you like that? Would Edgepark be liable since they said it was covered? Im worried this will happen when I call Edgepark....

Re: Edgepark Breastpump question----can they bill me later even though they said it's covered?
An eob is not a bill...did she get an actual bill??? I would not pay anything until I got a bill. And most likely the bill would come from Edgepark bc the ins didn't pay a claim. I do not think the ins would pay the claim & then bill the patient. So even if the eob shows she is responsible, she may never get a bill. This had happened to me with medical claims, but the 2 parties work it out so I never get a bill.

Re: Edgepark Breastpump question----can they bill me later even though they said it's covered?
I had tried Edgepark to see if I could get the pump covered, but they specifically told me that they would not mail it out to me until they confirmed that insurance would pay for it. I waited and waited and it turned out that my insurance does NOT cover it, so they didn't send it to me.
I am so surprised they would send it and later say that insurance won't pay for it. They are a medical supply company so they usually let you know if it's covered or if you have to pay for it upfront.
