goobster, maybe something like this (i'm not sure what finish i like though)...

or the desk with the hutch that's in the back of the picture here, is beautiful, but i think may be too much for where i want to put it

They are both very nice but again you really don't want to put the comuter inside a cabinet. There is not the ventilation that is needed.

But most desks have backs and they have cutouts that you can pop open. Wouldnt any desk with a hutch have constricted backs?

I personally would not let that stop me. And I use my computer a lot more than Mrs. Kelly probably uses hers.

I like the second one a lot, with the glass doors. Very nice!!!

my parents have had theirs in a cabinet for years without a problem. hmm. i dunno, again this isn't going in a computer room but in our den, so i want it to look as neat as possible.
i looove the 2nd one, but i think it may be more money than we're looking to spend, and i have to see the measurements; if it will be too much for the wall where it's going. i'll have to work on dh.
