Election Related, sorta, kinda, but also Parenting
Is anyone saving newspaper clippings or such from today for their children?
I am, though I hope that by the time he is old enough to read them, the election of an African-American as President will not seem so incredible anymore. I also hope a woman will be elected to this office (or at least VP by then). If these things happen, then I suppose this day will not seem so significant to him.

Me too! I looked at it recently, and oh, the world seemed much simpler at the time. The leading candidates for both parties were neither of the final candidates also.

I sure did... I remember my grandfather showing us clippings from the newspaper of key events from the civil rights movement. And I want my kids to have the same for this historic moment.
We went to 3 news stands at 8am this morning and they were sold out. Luckily my office is in the Chicago Sun-Times building, so I was able to pick up a few copies for myself, ILs and my parents.
There no papers available in the city of Chicago. The Sun Times site is directing people to come buy papers from the HQs bc they are still running copies of the paper to keep attempt to keep up with demand.

I've saved newspapers for my kids. I have a whole box. They'll all possess a piece of history.

We got one from today and saved one from when she was born too. The only problem is that the headlines from the day she was born are not so good. It was when the scandal with Spitzer came out. It says "Hooked: Sex addict gove spends $80,000 on call girl". How am I going to explain that one?
