I must be the only one but I feel if you advertise you should be up for a debate
I agree. I don't advertise on my facebook page which way I lean.
To the OP, why not ignore her with a simple " I understand you are as passionate about your candidate as I am about mine. You will not change my mind. So I'm asking you to stop posting Obamal stuff on my wall and I promise I will not post McCain stuff on yours" If she gives you lip, delete her a$$!

that is a good point you bring up, I do not necessarily disagree with you there.
I saw some lady at 7-11 with a McCain cup. The guy behind her commented so of course I commented too And she was like annoyed. If you are going to buy a McCain cup when there are other 20oz cups how could you get annoyed?
people always find a way to get annoyed at something....I think you need to have thick skin around election time and stick to your beliefs and values

I should have written that..just said that my husband and I are big supporters and we like Palin as well...I was wondering if she was going to make a comment about that but she didn't

Most of the Obama supporters I know (myself included) just literally don't understand why people would vote for McCain. Don't jump on me for that, I'm just stating the fact. I'm sure many McCain supporters feel the same about the other side of the token.
I have friends that are voting for McCain and I just don't get it--but I tend to avoid the subject rather than harp on it.

Well I guess I could say the same about the McCain supporters I know. We are shocked that anyone is voting for Obama. I can't remember an election where people felt so passionate!

I mean a spirited debate is fine and it happens on LIF all the time...however just to come out of no where and say I can't believe you are voting for XYZ and then try and debate someone on it is a little rude!

I'm glad you gave it right back at her. I have no problem advertising, backing up my choices, etc.
However, I was a debate club geek.
And, I am a McCain supporter but have a complete understanding of the other side and why people are voting that way. Tolerance goes both ways! Sorry that happened to you -- but don't back down! :)

Years ago, as a Democrat, someone tried to hold me responsible for Jimmy Carter's presidency. Um I was 6 when he was elected

Re: Election related...I just hate people who comment on who I am voting for!
I never talk politics, its so hard...i really keep my opinions to myself.
I have not even told my parents who i am voting for. I told my DH, just the other day but thats it.
I just hate to get into debates, i am a non confrontational person.
I just joined a group on Facebook, supporting my candidate, since its only 4 days til election day.
I always vote, and to me that is the most important aspect of this election is to get everyone to vote, no mater who it is for.

Well you know, Carter likes peanuts. I like peanuts ERGO my fault. I will also take full responsibility for his participation in Habitat for Humanity.

LOL - except totally vice versa - we are all scratching our heads. I don't understand how someone who purchases a beverage with a cup with Obama's name or McCain's name "invites" comments. Just like i don't understand if you have a Obama or McCain bumper sticker, you are "inviting" a debate or comments. I think sometimes when it comes to politics people lose common sense. My sister was at a halloween party and the subject turned to politics and her friend found out my sister was voting for McCain and she said to her " wow, i thought you were smart" - people lose control of their impulses!
