Elevated thyroid levels?
My pediatrician's office just called to say DS's newborn screen just came back high and they want to re-test. Has anyone else gone through this? Of course, I know it's not rational of me but I think the worst and automatically go to Google to search what this could mean.......

Re: Elevated thyroid levels?
It means his newborn screening test came back showing elevated levels of TSH.
Keep in mind that this is only a screening test and most cases wind up being normal....
Even if he does have an underactive thyroid. It is completely treatable.
My eldest daughter has always been at risk for developing hypothyroid and has been routinely tested since birth.
In the grand scheme of things it's relatively NOT a cause of concern unless it goes untreated.
