Empire Carpets
Has anyone used them for carpets? They should be here within the hour so I'm looking for any recommendations before I go with them.

we used them for our carpets as well as our laminate floor in the kitchen....we had no problems and would definitely use them again if we have to!

We used them and were very happy. We were also able to negotiate a few hundred off the price too!

we thought their prices were very fair....and looks like we got some very good carpeting. We just had our carpets cleaned last weekend and the carpet cleaners told us it was a very good quaility!!

I did not like the woman they sent to my house at all - she was in and out within 5 mins.
We are getting two rooms done - the office now - and the babies room in January. I wanted to get quotes for each. She said she couldn't give me a quote for the babies room now bc they expire in 30 days. Fine. She comes up and looks at the office (which is not a big room at all) and says that it will be between 800 and 1000 - without even asking me what kind of carpet I want in here. She takes the measurements and I ask to see swatches of the carpets. She asks me if I will be placing the order today. I said no - I have to run it past DH first. She then tells me that she can't bring in the swatches until I am ready to place an order. She was a complete BEEOTCH - and so I just went to a local carpet store and ordered the rug through them for half the price. SOOOO - I'm not a fan of empire!!!!

the salesperson you have sounds like an idiot!!
The first thing they should do is bring in the samples for you!!
I am sorry you had a bad experience. I would totally call Empire and complain!!

We ended up going with Costco since the quality was better but Empire was really willing to deal to get it done.
Definately negotiate with them- they will lower their prices like crazy.

i actually just had empire come to the house to measure for carpet. he wouldnt budge on price.
i ended up going to home depot and they quoted me 300 dollars LESS than empire..
Needless to say i went with home depot.
the sales man said something about effective in the beginning of oct, they changed their policies! they cant really lower prices much anymore.

I used them, had no problems.. got carpet in the master and my son's room. Love it! Prices were reasonable.

I heard their service was great but a friend of mine wound up going with Jim Flack, somewhere on the south shore, and said the quality and prices were better.

I didn't know Costco had carpet. HOw were their prices??

um I did. They did the basement and office and did a great job. Bargain bargain bargain..I got the guy down $400 from what he originally quoted me.
