Endometrial Biopsy
I realize there are alot of new people on the board, that probably have never had this.
But for those of you that did, can you tell me what to expect?
How long does it last? How much does it hurt? What does it feel like? can I drive afterwards? Can I go to work afterwards? Is it more or less painful than the HSG? Did you contracept before the test?
Any advice would be appreciated. TIA

Re: Endometrial Biopsy
Much less painful than the HSG, and much much quicker.
Lasts about 5-10 seconds. Sharp pain, not unbearable, but quick and sharp.
You may be crampy and spot afterwards. You probably could drive. You might be able to work afterwards...
I have had at least 5 of these, and after some I was fine, and others I was crampy, so I guess you never know...
Lots of help I am....

i never had an hsg, but this test was slightly painful just for a few quick minutes. my doctor warned me, "ok, you'll probably feel some cramping now" and boom there was cramping!! you can take a pain reliever about an hour before, which i forgot to do, and that's suppose to help.
i drove afterwards, but i came home and vegged out, it was after my workday.
good luck!!

Re: Endometrial Biopsy
The endometrial biopsy was extremely quick. It was not as painful as the HSG. I was able to drive afterwards but I took the rest of the day off anyway. I would have been able to go back to work though. I took some advil before the procedure to minimize the discomfort.

Re: Endometrial Biopsy
I just had my endometrial biopsy on Friday and it was a breeze. I was so concerned about it and freaking out, but it was cake. Now the HSG, that sucked. But this was easy. I did bleed for a while, actually until yesterday. But other than that, easy.
ETA: I could definitely drive afterward. Bring a pad and take some Ibuprofen (I took 3) an hour beforehand. It literally took less than a minute and I really didn't feel anything.
