Epidurals for Husbands, um no....
DH & I had lunch today & were talking about childbirth. I mentioned the post about residual pain from the epidural - and that I was glad not have to deal with any needles (except for the IV which freaked me out).
Then I said "Is it just me glossing over childbirth? I didn't think it was THAT bad - if I was in serious pain, I would've gotten one."
He said "I don't know you seemed like you were in pain - I know I was."
"HUH?"
"Well I had to dig my hand into your back during that back labor part & after 10 hours that gets old. My hand was hurting and I was hunched over the bed. It's not like I had a choice or anything"
"Yes - poor baby - you had no choice. Just like I had no choice but to push the baby, your baby - both of them out. Maybe you should've asked for an epidural for your hand?"
"They should do that for the husbands."
Sigh. Now I know why he took so long downstairs with the hospital paperwork that he missed Maddie's birth.

Re: Epidurals for Husbands, um no....
i had no problem with my epidural no after effects. everyones threshold for pain is different. i opted for the epidural since the baby was so large and couldnt put the shoulders pass the pelvic bone which took 2 hours. i would have probably ended up with a c section if i didnt take the epidural.

MEN.
I've had a BAD cold the last 2-3 days, but didn't make a big deal out of it because life goes on, and I still have to tend to Alex. DH wakes up MOANING AND GROANING... ohhhh I'm going to Die... my throat hurts so bad. I looked at him and said, ah, you got what I've had the last three days. He looks at me and says, you're throat hurt this bad??? I responded - yes, but I don't like to complain about it like you do
