Estee Lauder Double Wear Foundation? Update!
Anyone use it? Any good? It gets some pretty great reviews but I was curious if anyone here had tried it.
I am just so tired of putting my make up on at 7 am and having it look like i am wearing no make up at all by noon.
I have tried everything.... primers, setting sprays, different foundations, applying powder before the foundation (trick I saw on You tube) , applying powder after the foundation, mattifying creams before I apply, primer, no primer, you name it.
Nothing works.
It's like my make up just slides off my face or my skin just eats it up and POOF it's gone. And it's not like i am super oily or anything to explain it.
I'm just tired of having to reapply my whole face in a few short hours and looking like shit if I don't
I hear the Double Wear is supposed to be long lasting. Anyone use it? Reviews?

Re: Estee Lauder Double Wear Foundation?
I have the same problem as you. Been trying all different items, applcations etc. Still by the time I get to work I look like I don't have any makeup on. Let me know if you try this and it works. Thanks.

Re: Estee Lauder Double Wear Foundation?
Have you ever tried Revlon's liquid Colorstay? This is still my go-to foundation. Sometimes I'll use a primer underneath, but it holds up pretty well without one. I'll sometimes use UD setting spray.
I have a few of the Double Wear foundations (regular, light and maximum), but I haven't used them enough to give an opinion on them. Unfortunately the colors are too light for my skin at the moment (I purchased them in the winter time.)

Re: Estee Lauder Double Wear Foundation?
I like it. I find it stays- It can be heavy or lighter, depending on how you apply. Applying with fingers usually gives me the heaviest coverage, and then yes it can look cakey.
I do find it a little drying, but most long wearing foundations are.

Re: Estee Lauder Double Wear Foundation?
I'm not sure if this makes sense, but it does in my mind...
Could your skin be too dry? Maybe your skin is absorbing the makeup because it's "thirsty"?
Also, do you let your moisturizer (if you use it) dry completely before putting on foundation?
Sorry, I know that is not what you asked.

Try UD All Nighter.
The setting spray? If so, I did actually and it did absolutely nothing. It actually made the make up wear off faster I think. I gave it a shot twice and then returned it.

Yeah in the winter, it can be drier. But I feel like I'm oilier in the summer. I do let my moisturizer absorb a bit before putting on the foundation. I'm just at a loss.

I watched a bunch of reviews of it on You Tube after I posted this and I have to say, it does look great on the people who tried it. One girl didn't touch up her make up and came back 12 hours later and it was still looking pretty good. At 12 hours it actually looked better than what I'm using at 4 hours.
I know though that foundation is such a personal thing. What works great for one person is awful on someone else. It really really depends on your skin and your skin alone. I guess I'll give it a try though- I have nothing to lose.

Re: Estee Lauder Double Wear Foundation?
Update- I got it.
Used it for the first time today.
Put it on at around 715 am and it's now almost 2 pm and still looks freshly applied. Which by now, I'd be looking like I wasn't wearing any make up at all.
I didn't use my concealer over my red areas like I usually do because I wanted to see how this held up with nothing else. I have to say, even my red ares which always show through first (I think I have some kind of rosacea actually) aren't showing yet, and that's with NO concealer.
It's not too heavy for me either- I actually need a full coverage foundation due to all my skin issues.
I'll see how it looks when I get home at 6 pm but so far it's holding up way better than everything else I've tried.
This could be a keeper- we shall see!

Maybe I have the wrong name, but it's a new like 24-hour staying power foundation. I have heard good things. But it's def by Urban Decay.

Oh ok. I thought you were talking about the Urban Decay all nighter setting spray. That didn't work for me.
I didn't know they had a new long wearing foundation.

Re: Estee Lauder Double Wear Foundation? Update!
If you like double wear you should try double wear maximum coverage that stuff really doesn't budge and covers everything but blends out so nicely. I wore it in an outdoor wedding in July and looked the same at 8pm as it did when I applied it at 8am.

I originally was going to get that one! That was the one that originally caught my eye to Double Wear. I need a TON of coverage. But in the end I chickened out thinking it might be just too much..and too heavy....even for me. They kind of bill it as a camouflage make up for face and body. ..like a dermablend...like if you want to cover a tatoo or port wine stain.
But now I'm intrigued.... Was it super heavy and cakey? Did it look like heavy duty make up?

Estee Lauder Double Wear Foundation? Update!
have you tried wearing a primer under your foundation Laura Mercier has one I love,it is called Foundation Primer (its almost like a gel and makes the foundation not dry or cakey looking) and then on top of my foundation I set with her translucent setting powder and it lasts all day. I start the day at 630am and finish after 5

Yes. I have tried every primer under the sun. I do use the Laura Mercier setting powder- it's great. But still my make up was gone by noon.
With the Double Wear it seems to last. I'm only on my second day of wearing it though, so the jury is still out.

I haven't but I seem to have the same issue as you. The only one I've had good luck with has been MAC foundation. It's a little thicker & lasts me all day. I've worn it out at night, danced, sweat, etc. and it still lasts. "Studio Fix Powder Plus Foundation"

LUSH makes a moisturizer called Magical Moringa and is another thing I am obsessed with. It is moisturizer you warm up in your hands then put it on your face. It has cornstarch in it so it instantly mattifies your face and all your oil is completely gone. I use that alone and when I do a full face I put foundation over it and it makes a tremendous difference in my skin

Its a full coverage foundation. I used a damp beauty blender and it never looks cakey. It gives a flawless finish and its matte. I wouldn't try to put it on with your fingers because that might be hard to blend it evenly but its worth a try. Its my go to for any event because it never budges ever.

the maximum coverage one can cover melasma ( EmilyNoel83 on you tube has videos about this)
When I went to buy the regular after not having used it for a while the girl talked me into the light. it is okay- but it doesn't come in as many colors & doesn't cover redness as well.
ps- the double wear concealer is really good too.

I think someone posted the video from Emily on the Melasma thread. I saw it. It was incredible. I don't have melasama but I think i have some form of rosacea lately. I'm very red on my cheeks and nose and up to my forehead a little. I'm considering trying it next.... I love the regular doublewear so far- but I need to do 2 layers over my red areas and still use concealer as well.

Re: Estee Lauder Double Wear Foundation? Update!
Ordered the Maximum Coverage one. I'm excited for it to come. I figured I had nothing to lose as Estee Lauder online has free shipping and free returns. So if it sucks I can send it back.
I figure it might be better for me because my redness keeps showing through the regular foundation and I have to add a ton of concealer. I am hoping to not need a concealer with this one.
