$ estimate: refinishing wood floors
we're closing pretty soon on our house, and i've heard it's best to do this before you get in because it's such a mess. can anyone help out with what it cost them? not sure if it would go by room, by square foot, etc?

we just had ours done last week. it was $1600 for the entire upstairs of a high ranch including the steps and railing. for 3 coats of poly.
we used harris floors, they have mixed reviews on here but we had a great experience. apparently they outsource work when theyre really busy and thats when they get bad reviews. its a family business, the owner and uncle and son i believe were the ones who worked on our floors. no complaints!

I was quoted the same from Harris for our upstairs but had a HORRENDOUS experience. They caused our move to be pushed back by 2 days and caused me a great deal of stress

We used Harry's Woodfloors. We paid $900 for 3 big bedrooms and all the closets (all walkin) on the 2nd floor.

We used Novak Flooring. They charged us $1.50 per square foot for 3 coats of oil based poly. Stairs were an extra set amount but I forget right now, maybe around $150. We were very happy with their work.

We used Harris twice - once in our old home and now in the new one. Both times they were a good price and both times did a great job. Definitely do it before you move it is very dusty and smelly.
