I can't tell if he's saying it for me, or just saying it. I know he knows who mommy is. But then I ask him to say "mommy" and he says "mahm!" and smiles

does this count? come on, I really want it to! Chat Icon

I told him to say banana the other day and he said "bamama" ... does this count too?

I'm so fishing, but I so can't wait to have a conversation with this kid!

he's 9.5m Chat Icon

Honestly I didn't even expect him to speak for a long time because we are teaching him 2+ languages Chat Icon

DS was 7 months when he started to babble "dada" and "mim" (for "mama") so I think this counts for your LO!

Congrats!Chat Icon

DD 's first babbling words were baba and mama @ 6.5 months. She referred to me as mama, when she wanted to be picked up or if someone else was holding her.

We are raising DS bilingual and he just started babbling baba, mama, and dada this month (he's 9 months old).

DS has been saying Mama for a while now (since about 9.5 months) he also says Babi (our name for grandma) for the same amount of time. When we went overseas he learned how to say "tak" yes in our other language, (about 10 months) now I talk to him all the time in second language at home hoping he's going to pick up the words, mostly rt now he hasn't repeated anything (other than the above) he does have a few words in english he knows, but I think he understands what I'm saying in the second language. So waiting and hoping he says some more soon Chat Icon
