Ever have a dog break a leg?
Brinkley's fine... I'm just curious if anyone's had to go through a situation where their dog needed leg surgery and what the story was, if it was something that plagued them late in their lives.

well my sisterse dog tore it's little ACL and had to have knee surger..kind of similar...
It was playing in leaves and limped and cried..then wouldn't put it's leg down or walk..eventually it started limping on 3 legs. Thats when she decided it was necessary to have surgery...
The little girl is doing well now. it's heartbreaking cause dogs can't tell you about pain...but it's putting its foot down again. Doc said would take about 6-8 weeks for full recover...

A family friend's dog recently broke her leg and had to have (very expensive) surgery.
I hear she is recovering very well though!
I would imagine they do have to keep an eye on it though as she gets older or if she puts on weight (she's a chocolate lab, so prone to arthritis and hip problems with age anyway).

My dog did
she needed 2 pins put in. this happened when she was about 10 months she is now 8. She is tough dog but we ave always noticed issues with her when she squats to go to the bathroom. For the most part she is fine, runs, jumps, plays, but she does walk a little trampy (shaking her buttt hehe) as she walks... not sure if it is related or not
