Experience gift ideas or gifts other than toys?
I'm trying to think ahead for the holidays. We celebrate both Christmas and Hanukkah so we can easily get a lot of stuff. This year, I'm trying to keep it less toy and more living, if you kwim.
Any ideas for gifts?

How old is your child?
I've slowed down with toys, but have gone to:
Science sets
Art sets
Building sets
Board games
Books
Bed sheets (Star Wars, princess, etc) & home decor
We do these things together and this is a bond
With memberships, we do:
Zoo (every year)
Botanical Gardens (the holiday train show is awesome & with one more visit a year which is easy in the winter... Pays for self)
Aquarium
Used to do a play museum

Tiles Center at CW Post has kids shows.
Also, maybe a bunch of classes for a sport ie karate, gymnastics, etc

Someone gave my DD a gift card to Barnes and noble. I thought it was a great idea. She got to pick out her own books.

You could do classes of some sort like swimming, Suffolk County farm, aquarium,etc.
If you have any interest in the Halloween or holiday events at sesame you could do their membership. Right now it covers the end of this year and all of next year.
