Experience with buying car after lease expires
Were your payments MUCH more than what they were during the lease? Is there a calculator that i can use instead of sitting in the dealership all darn day to get a round about?
Any info would be lovely!

If we buy after our lease, our payments should remain the same.

Re: Experience with buying car after lease expires
it really depends on how much the car is worth, then the type of deal you get with rate, lenght, etc..

Experience with buying car after lease expires
I had a friend who leased a Nissan XTerra. Once the lease was up she financed the remaining payments. When it's said and done, she's been paying this car off for 9 years.

Experience with buying car after lease expires
Our lease was almost up and we were about to go over our miles so we went to the dealer to weigh our options. Our lease payments were a little over $200/month but to buy out our lease would have increased our payments to well over $400/month for 4 or 5 years. It was not worth it so we leased a new car.

Re: Experience with buying car after lease expires
Call the leasing company and find out what the car's buyout is at the end of the lease. Then ask them if you finance through them what financing programs they are offering. Then shop the financing to find out if there's a better deal.

Don't forget that you have to pay sales tax on the residual value of the car if you buy out your lease.

Experience with buying car after lease expires
I bought years ago and the payments stayed the same. In fact, I made a lower offer on the price and after a week it was accepted.

Re: Experience with buying car after lease expires
HI! Thanks everyone for your responses. I called Hyundai (I have a 2011 sonata, leased in 2010), the residual value is 12,630.00 I actually like the car alot and put new tires on and front brakes, and have been good about oil changes.
Are you saying that I can "make a deal" on the price? As in, offer $11,500 for the car?
I never did this before. (I hate new experiences...)

Ask the leasign company what your options are. I had a honda Civic once and at the end of the lease I could actually re-lease it if I wanted.
