experience with gymboree for b-day parties?
Originally I was thinking of having dd's b-day in a restaurant but I feel like I am forced to find entertainment and conflict/resolution amongst various people that I am thinking of doing a kids party. Is this tacky for a 1st b-day? At least then I can add in gymbo the clown as the character and have a organized party...any opinions?

I don't think it's tacky at all. If you have enough kids, go for it!! Maybe you can have your immediate family over for cake and ice cream at your house another day or something.

I have been to a few 1st bday party's at Gymboree and they were fine. The kids had fun and they even had food for the adults as well.
