Experienced WW ladies-need advice please

I'm almost 7 weeks pp. I lost all of my pregnancy weight, but I still have about 50 lbs to goal.

I'm allowed 34 points per day, and I never go over that amount. I only eat WW recipes, no soda, I drink 8 glasses of water every day. But my weight loss has stalled. This week I gained, and I don't know what to change? I was on such a roll with this before I got pregnant, and now I'm doing the same things and I'm not losing wieght. Heck, my clothes don't even fit different either.

What could I do? I was thinking of cutting down on carbs but I do need the nutrition since I'm nursing. Any advice or tips? DH thinks I just have to wait it out but I'm getting anxious and I feel like if I don't see a change I'll fall off the wagon Chat Icon

Re: Experienced WW ladies-need advice please

maybe you need to change up what you're eating?
do you eat the same things every day?
you might need to shock your body a little to get out of the plateau.

are you eating foods high in sodium?
that could cause you to retain water and bloat.
before my weigh-ins, i go on a "sodium fast" for 2 days b4 and the day of.
i dont eat salty foods- no soda, no chips, pretzels, no frozen dinners, no chinese, italian, etc etc

I have been eating mostly the same things. Oatmeal and a piece of fruit for breakfast, soup or leftovers for lunch, and I cook a WW recipe for dinner. I don't eat Salty stuff usually, so I don't really think its water weight?

Thanks for the advice! I'm going to try and change it up a bit this week.

Did you get AF since you had your DD?

I know for me I usually gain 3-4lbs about a week before I am due to get AF.

Are you following the 8 healthy guidelines? Getting all your fruits, veggies, healthy oils, etc?

Re: Experienced WW ladies-need advice please

Watch the types of food you eat too. You can be in the correct point range but be carb heavy and that can be trowing you off. Also watch portion size.......we talk about it in our meetings all the time....After you have been on WW for a period of time we sometimes let our portion sizes grow.....not huge but just not the correct size to correspond to the points.

If you are doing the points correct the lack exercise right now wont hurt you.....weight loss is mostly diet. You will probably see a bigger loss when you do get the clear but dont stress that the no exercise is the issue....

I didn't even know about these! I was getting the fruits and veggies, but I cut out cooking with oil a few weeks ago-just when I stopped losing and started gainig. I wonder if that made a difference?

I would spend a week measuring and weighing everything. I have seen so many members in the meeting I go to do this and the scale moves. I think we get comfortable with the program at some point and we just need to get back to basics. Also speak with your leader if you go to meeting...they can give tips that will work.

Re: Experienced WW ladies-need advice please

Do you have snacks in between your meals? I would change things up, eat a different breakfast. Make sure you have veggies with both lunch and dinner, they are filling and really not many points at all. Maybe your points need to be lowered a bit?

I also would get into some excersize once you are cleared. Can you at least go for walks yet?

Good luck and let us know what happens!
