Dr. Brown's

I LIVE for DR Brown's PITA to clean, but I had a sterilizer too, so it wasn't too bad...Bella is STILL using them.

Re: EXPERTS!!! help... what brand bottle do u recommend?

Mikey started with Dr. Browns and then he just started to hate them one day (after I bought a whole bunch and spend alot of $$$!) We switched to Avent and have been perfect ever since. (which personally I was so happy because they were a PITA to clean)

This is just one of those things that your child has to decide.

Re: EXPERTS!!! help... what brand bottle do u recommend?

We only used Gerber bottles for weeks and just started using Playtex Ventaires the past month or 6 weeks. Liam only liked the brown-ish nipples that Gerber makes. Not the clear silicone ones (I think the brown ones are silicone too but they are not super smooth feeling like the clear silicone ones, I think he doesn't like that super smooth texture). He gets gas but before we started w/ the Playtex bottles, we used Mylicon. I just put the brownish nipples in the Playtex bottles. I know Playtex say to use their own nipples to get the full benefit from the ventaire bottle but I dont' think it matters that much. He's gotten less gas since then. It's a pain to clean all the parts of the Playtex ventaires but I think it's easier than cleaning the Dr. Brown's with all of their parts.

As for what type of bottles, I think all of them are ok - really you just have to make sure the bottle is tipped so that the baby won't get any air. It's fine up until he's down to the end of the bottle, then it gets tricky to get it so no air gets in there. They will still get some of course but should be better.

I wanted to use the Avent bottles but I read on here awhile ago they tend to leak. But everyone has their own advice and favorite bottle brand. The best idea is to get a small starter pack of each or one of each (like you can get 1 Playtex Ventaire bottle, one Gerber one, one Avent one) and test each out to see which you like the most.
Good luck!

Re: EXPERTS!!! help... what brand bottle do u recommend?

If you have a dishwasher Nancy...and I'm sure you do in your new house, then cleaning the dr brown bottles is easy. I only used dr browns as well.

You get the dishwasher basket that they sell in BRU or BBB and take apart the bottle parts and throw them in there. When you come over sometime, I'll show you how to do it.

No. Avents only have 3 parts. The bottle, nipple and ring that fits the nipple.

We used Playtex drop ins with both kids. No problems and super easy to clean.
