Extremely low first beta?
Hi ladies,
Anyone have a really low first beta that turned out successful? I am 10dpt3dt today and my beta is a three. Retesting on Monday. I know it's a slimmmm chance this can turn out okay and not hopeful, but staying on meds just in case.

Re: Extremely low first beta?
From what I understand a beta less than 5 is technically negative. What kind of feedback did your Dr give you?

Extremely low first beta?
When mine was just slightly above 0, it was considered negative. I know not what you wanted to hear. Good luck!

Re: Extremely low first beta?
my beta with IVF started out at 26 and didnt go up. 3 I dont even think is considered positive. I think if its over a 5 then its positive.
Sorry. Im surprised they're not testing you sooner than next week though :(

I'm sorry. Like the other ladies said, I think 5 and over is technically considered a positive. Did your doctor or nurse give you any feedback when you were told that number?

Re: Extremely low first beta?
My first pregnancy my first beta was 30, then it almost doubled to 50...doctor said pregnancy was doomed....beta kept going up but at a slow pace (not doubling) and at I almost 7 weeks (never saw a heartbeat) I started bleeding and lost the pregnancy...because we never saw the heartbeat it was considered a chemical...
Sorry to hear!

Extremely low first beta?
I was told by my RE that anything under 5 negative. With my son my first beta was only a 9 - he's 3 months old now.

Re: Extremely low first beta?
They actually didn't say it was negative.. told me looks like implantation occurred and the pregnancy didn't progress. I am almost certain implantation did occur, because I felt it. This is my third loss and all three times I have felt implantation occur. I am retesting beta tomorrow. I made a mistake on the original post.
