Re: Facebook pet peeves.
So many things but the latest is my cousins wife is writing to her husband on facebook professing her love for him... Not sure why she has to post that on FB for all to see, when she can just tell him in person.

Re: Facebook pet peeves.
everything already stated:
* grammar * spelling * incorrect facts when bashing people with different world views * bashing people who don't do things the way you do... i have a distant relative who is ALWAYS posting memes about how women used to be better at being women.
today's meme: a family standing against the side of a barn (black and white picture). i would guess it was during the 1930s. they have a truckload of kids; think Duggars.
the meme is in spanish, but translates to: "families back when women were women and they didn't always have headaches."

Writing something to specific people - but not properly tagging them so it appears on their wall.
Wishing one's spouse / SO a happy birthday/anniversary etc on FB. Really, you can't just say it to their face ?

I know a couple who writes these sappy, ridiculous messages to each other on their anniversaries (I don't just mean wedding anniversary- the day they met, the day they became "official," their first kiss, etc) birthdays, kids' birthdays. It ends up being like once a flucking week.
The wife also likes to post things about formula being poison and how disgusted she is by working moms.
Not on FB, but they also send out Christmas cards with her (or "their" as they say) maternity pics on them. Actually, she posted them on FB, too, so I guess it is related.

LOL the no tag post! Most of my older fb friends seem to do that. I think it's funny.
"I'll be there by 10am to pick you up" or some such random thought LOL.

All of the above basically. I've unfollowed so many people I forgot they even exist.
Can I add the "broken record" posters:
-political rants 24/7 -oversharing (memes, fundraising, o woe is me give me attention my life sucks) -it's what's for dinner tonight, this weekend, this decade -SELFIES 24/7 got dam I know what you look like from every angle up your nosehairs

Re: Facebook pet peeves.
Basically anything that’s related to praying away cancer or that chemo is poison and there’s a real cure out there and it comes in the form of kale//frozen lemons//dandelion roots.
I’m alive because of chemo as are many of my friends. If I went to my oncologist and said “yeah instead of chemo, let’s go with this kale and green juice shit that some misfit on the internet posted, that seems like a better idea”, she would probably laugh me out of the room.
And people that go on and on that there’s a cure for cancer but it’s all such a money making idea that it’s being held from us. HELLO. Cancer doesn’t discriminate (ie., so the people holding the cure from us are also okay with watching their loved ones die from it?), there are so many types of cancer so there’s not going to be one answer to eliminating it, and if someone like STEVE JOBS couldn’t get his hands on this supposed cure, then I highly doubt this exists.
Ugh. And anti-vaxxers. People that post this shit are a disgrace and are spreading untruths through society, all based on a five-minute Google PhD.
^ See how stupid you sound when you repost this shit?

Public proclamations of love for one's spouse.
Definitely this.
A friend of mine from HS is like that and then I had dinner with her last month (haven't seen her in 15 years). Turns out - her DH is an a-hole and treats her like a 50s housewife (he keeps their earnings separate and all her money goes toward house stuff and stuff for the kids while he gets to buy a Porsche with his money. And demands that she keeps the house clean and cooks him specific meals - even though she works full time. And also demanded, in therapy, that she give him regular bl0w jobs.). She mentioned how jealous she is of our mutual friends that got divorced and are now with great guys. I asked how she knows they're great guys and she said b/c our friends post about how happy they are on FB and it looks idyllic. I had to point out how she does the same thing and no one know what goes on behind closed doors.

Yessssss and then ending it with “mommy and daddy love you very much”
Add to that...
“Crackerjack is 7 months old today. Blah blah blah I’m gonna write a novel about how physically and psychologically ahead of the game my kid is so all my friends know my child is gifted yada yada yada”
I’m pretty sure if you handed that child a stack of hay, they’d eat it- but that’s not even the point. Those self indulgent brag posts are so annoying.
Oh ans lastly, posting your kids art on your wall. We get it. You have the next Picasso in the making. We are all thoroughly impresssed.
Ok one more. Posting your kids report card, or test, or that they had an excellent parent teacher conference and were rewarded with unicorns and icecream.

All of these. I also love the vaca posts when you know they are super deep in debt. My husbands family is like this. Or any just showing off posts. Like look at all our new stuff. But we have 3000 credit cards and they are all maxed out. I don’t get it

When people post memes that aren't funny but are based on incorrect facts. It takes two minutes to verify something. For example, there was a chart going around about well-know charities, how much they paid their CEO and how much went to the actual cause. Nearly every "fact" was wrong.
I also saw a photoshopped pic of Hillary Clinton and Osama Bin Laden posted on a hs classmate's page. Someone very nicely posted that it wasn't real and she said "I don't care." So there's also those people who post stuff they know isn't true, but it fits with their beliefs so it's all good.
OMG did you see the one with Britney Spears when she had her shaved head and was attackign that car with an umbrella and someone put it was a Parkland shooting survivor at a protest. It had to be a joke obviously, I mean everyone knows that is Britt in like 06 or whatever. But people were jumping on it saying- what a bitcch, she needs to be in jail, etc And others were like- umm, that's Britney Spears from like 11 years ago. It scares me the dumb people populating this earth
I am surprised that I didn't see this (but glad!)

I have this woman on my friend's list who constantly shares things about lost dogs, lost kids, etc. But 99% of the time, if you click the link it's about a lost dog or lost child from 6 years ago and you can see they have been found already by reading the comments.
She also shares all kinds of things like- Don't drink this brand of bottled water, gang members are poisoning it with a needle through the cap. And then you go to snopes, or even the comments and it's disproven.
I hate that shit. Don't just share fake news without researching it.
Are you friends with my grandmother? Because this is her, and I had to unfollow her.
I want to add people involved with MLMs posting CONSTANTLY. I have friends that will post, no joke, 15 times a day about weight loss or lip gloss.

My sister told me about one of her friends gushing over her father with birthday wishes. Which is sweet. Until I said to my sister, "I didn't realize so and so's father was on FB". And my sis said "he's not". Then what the hell were all the birthday wishes for?? He's not even going to read them!!!

My grandmother posted a completely false quote once, and when I added the Snopes link stating it wasn’t true, my cousin, who is also guilty of sharing completely false memes, told me I shouldn’t be using Snopes because it’s biased.
I’m a librarian. She was put in her place VERY quickly.
