Ringling Circus

Sarasota is not only the home of CyberWize and TravelWize, but it's the home of America's Circus as well and is where the Ringling circus wintered from November until May when it would open in New York City at Madison Square Garden and run for a month before taking it out on the road. While easy to take the circus for granted, one quick peak at a typical itinerary for the circus reveals the breathtaking performance schedule this group of men and women undertook in order to bring their craft to families across the country. Below is the route the company took in 1950- it's amazing to consider the planning and effort involved in setting up, tearing down and traveling from location to location to make their way around the country- enjoy this trip down Nostalgia Lane!

Their is a section in Sarasota where all the circus people live. DH had to do an install there. We've driven by it too. It's not real exciting and it looks like it's all trailer homes.
