Failed the 3hr as well, I'm officially a Gestational Diabetic
and I got the phone call as I was shoving a chocolate cookie in my mouth Looks like I'll need a complete diet overhall as I am a carb lover. Of course this couldn't have come at a better time with the holidays approaching, grrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.

oh crap if it makes you feel any better my bff had gestational diabetes while pregnant and now that the baby is here she is fine and no longer has it..hang in there

I failed my 3 hour at the end of week 12, I'm now at the end of week 20..I remember when the doctor told me I immediately began crying hysterically (she looked at me like I was crazy and asked why I was crying and I said, "because I'm pregnant and hormonal!" pretty funny looking back now) but anyway I know that it seems like the end of the world right now, but it really isn't the death sentence I thought it was. It really isn't too hard to control with your diet, I honestly haven't made any drastic changes, it just makes you think twice about what you put into your mouth. I'm here for support!

Its not the end of the world... Just a little bump. here think of the positives... because there are some..
1. You wont gain as much as weight. You will be forced to monitor what you eat.
2. You will be monitered much more closely meaning you will have tons and tons of sonos nearing then end. So youll get to see your baby so much more and know so much more about what he or she is doing in there.
3. Its actually a much healthier way of eating and lifestyle. I know its not fun but it kinda makes you appreciate the small things.
Ive had it with both my pregnancies and was insulin dependent for both. I couldnt control it with diet.
It goes away as soon as you deliver the placenta!!!

Ugh... I'm sorry!
I was also diagnosed with GD the week befoe Thanksgiving...while it sucked, it was manageble though the holidays.
