Re: Fake trees vs. fresh cut Christmas trees

I have always had fake trees - I am allergic to pine and evergreens and we get comments on how nice our tree looks every year. You can have your tree up earlier and it doesn't brown or have the needles falling off. Yes good fake trees can be expensive but they last for many years if you take good care of them and store them properly and in the long run it ends up being cheaper.

IMO though there are nice and ugly fake trees so you do have to shop around.

I have always had real because when I think of fake trees I think of skimpy little things....I would LOVE a fake one though I think - the real ones are such a hassle. Where can I go to buy a nice big fake tree???

I just went to Harrows. Mine was on sale and it was $400 after tax.

Always have had real trees but the last two years or so have been contemplating getting a fake one.

I've always had a real tree, but this year we have fake one, b/c our apartment is so hot (no separate thermastat) and a real one would be dead within a week....

I love the smell of a real one though, makes me get into the holiday spirit.

We'll get 2 real wreaths though..one for our front and back door, so I'll get that "tree" smell from those.

We just bought ours at Kohl's for $90, but places like Harrows, Home Depot, Target, etc. have decent ones pretty fairly priced.

I always kill the trees. Every single year. We are going to have lots of little kids over for Christmas this year and with the new little puppy getting sent maybe I'll just get a nice fake one.

between dogs and kids you'd probably be better off with a fake one this year.
