False labor contractions
Is it common to keep having the at the same time of day? I think I am having mild contractions.....the same thing happened last night around the same time. It feels like AF cramps and like my belly is super tight. I have mentioned it before but I never felt contractions with DS because my water broke and then I was induced and drugged so I'm not sure really, but what else could it be. Should I be worried? I'm 35 weeks.....

Re: False labor contractions
sounds like braxton hicks.... try drinking more water and lay on your side. If they stay consistant or get worse then I'd call the dr. If there is no pattern and just happens once in a while its normal... your body is just getting ready and practicing!

Re: False labor contractions
I thought BH didn't hurt? Don't know where I heard that, but maybe I'm just confused. There doesn't seem to be any pattern, but they do seem to last a while. Last night it went on and off for quite a while.....over an hour. Not constant. I keep drinking and drinking thiking I'm dehydrated.....

If that happens again tonight, I would call the dr. I saw the high risk dr today and told her I was having Braxton Hicks every once in a while... and she wasnt concerned... but she did ask me how often. If they last for over an hour I would just make the call. When you say it hurts, is it severe? Or more like slight cramping? My braxton hicks are uncomfortable but I wouldn't say they hurt.

Re: False labor contractions
This is your second pregnancy right? I'm only 23 weeks but I was just having the same exact thing happen a few nights ago. I was actually not able to catch my breath they hurt so bad, and thought I was in labor. I went to the hospital and turns out they were BH. The doctor told me that BH can hurt, and if you had them often with your first, there more likely to feel more real this time around.
I would however mention this to your doctor just so they maybe check you so they know all is well.

No, not severe...like period cramps I guess, but with the tightening too it is pretty annoying and uncomfortable. Tonight it dodnt last as long. Its also hard to determine a start and end point. It kind of fades in and out. I will call the dr tomorrow just incase. Thanks so much

Re: False labor contractions
No problem!! Glad to help!! Also, I should add that this pregnancy is much more painful in terms of the movements and braxton hicks for me too. I think it must be normal after the 1st pregnancy to feel more the next time.

Mine were REALLY uncomfortable, still are, even now. My belly gets very very tight and even my lower back hurts a bit. It stinks but I did ask my OB and they are just BH
ETA: Like yours, there is no beginning-peak-end. They start, peak, fade a bit, peak again, and eventually fade... maybe even with a 3rd or 4th peak.

Totally agree with this. I had NO cramping with DS at all!
