False Positive OPK
Again! Second cycle in a row! Last cycle I got a and didn't actually ovulate - I know, because my period didn't come until 48 days later.
And now, Monday night I got a but they didn't see anything on the sono yesterday. And I woke up this morning to 97.3 degrees. Basically the same temp I've been this whole cycle. I was hoping so hard before I fell asleep last night that it would be higher, but no luck.
My doc sent me for blood tests a few weeks ago - thyroid, hormones, insulin, etc. - and it all came back negative. So if there's NOTHING wrong with me, no PCOS, no thyroid issues, how do I keep getting false positives? Why is there so much LH in my blood? I have sore/tender boobs and newly abundant CM, which is why I tested in the first place.
I'm really feeling so down about this. I feel so bad for DH. He wants babies as much as I do, and he's doing what he needs to do for it, but I'm just broken.

Re: False Positive OPK
Are you seeing your regular OB/GYN or an RE? I'll be honest, with everything you've described (long irregular periods, multiple +OPKs, cysts on your ovaries) I'm really surprised that PCOS has been ruled out.
Perhaps you should contact an RE if you aren't under the care of one already. The OB/GYN is in charge of general reproductive/fetal health, but the RE's job is to get you pregnant.

Re: False Positive OPK
I'm seeing an OB/GYN. I just started with her 2 weeks ago. After telling her my story, she said she thought I have PCOS and wants to send me to a RE right away. She took blood and the sono so the RE could get started with me immediately. Then, to her surprise, all the tests came back normal except for my "slightly polycystic" ovaries, according to the tech. The GYN is supposed to call me today to follow up on the sono.
Hmm... maybe they're only "slightly" polycystic because I was on the Pill for a lot of years and they've only just started growing back?

Re: False Positive OPK
When did they do the bloodwork? The b/w has to be done at a specific point in your cycle to give accurate results. Go to an RE. He/She will do all the testing you need, and on the right days.

They did the bloodwork on day 11 of my cycle.
I just got another five minutes ago. I had one on Monday too. I don't know what's going on.
I think you've all convinced me to go to an RE. Thanks.
