Family Friendly Towns on Long Island?
I know Long Island but don't really know it in terms of where the really family friendly places to live are...
Anything you can pass along would be much appreciated!
Thanks, Patricia

Lindenhurst Village!! TONS of summer activities, great library programs, very "community" atmosphere, most blocks have a block party in the summer, and good schools. Affordable houses, too. We moved here from East Northport 6 years ago and never looked back!!

Re: Family Friendly Towns on Long Island?
We live in East Islip (south shore, central Suffolk) and love it! We both grew up in the school district. Yesterday we just walked up to main street for a St. Patrick's Day parade! It was great! Love this town! It's been featured as a top town in LI and recently mentioned that property values remained fairly steady through the recession.
We are close to water, Hecksher Park, Bayard Cutting Arboretum, Nature Preserves, Connetquot State Park, Brookwood Hall Park, LIRR, great Library programs, Town rec programs, etc.
Love it! Check it out!

Re: Family Friendly Towns on Long Island?
I'm a big fan of Nassau County... Rockville Centre, Merrick, Bellmore (where I live), Wantagh, Levittown... these areas are all very nice areas to live and everyone is so nice here. I know all these towns have block parties and various activities (ie sports) throughout the year. Good luck with your search!
