Family in Need- House Fire! Please Help! UPDATE
I'm hoping that the LIF community can help a friend's family members out. Here is the background:
My friend sent me an email and stated this:
ATTN ALL FRIENDS IN THE LONG ISLAND AREA! My friend's cousin & his PREGNANT wife lost EVERYTHING in a house fire 2 nights ago. The house basically melted! They are in dire need of clothing.
- Mens 36 or 34 pants and Large or X-large shirts.
- Ladies size 14, as well as maternity clothing.
- Also, if you have any household items you don't use, please inbox me & I will pick them up! Your generosity is greatly appreciated! Thx xxoo
If anyone is willing to part with any men's clothing, women's/maternity clothing and/or household items, please FM me and I will arrange to pick up or if you are local and want to drop it off at my home in East Islip, that would be great too.
I cannot imagine losing my home and possessions in a fire. Please help me to help this growing family gain some comfort. TIA.

ETA: Thanks for all of the replies ladies! I am waiting to hear from my friend who is also waiting to hear from the family, as I do not know the family in need personally. As soon as I have more specifics I will share them with you all. Thanks again!
UPDATE: 7/15/11
Hello all. Just to let you know, the mommy-to-be is 3 months pregnant right now, which makes her due date around January. I do not know her personally, so I am not sure if they will be finding out the sex of the baby. So, for now, I would ask that the ladies who want to part with baby clothes, to please give them to other mommies that need them.
As for me picking things up next week... If you would like to donate anything, please post what exactly you are willing to give and what town for pick up so I can coordinate it all. TIA!

We actually have a microwave, toaster oven and assorted, dishes, glasses, etc to give away.
it's all used stuff from DH's college and bachelor days which we're about to replace with stuff we got as wedding gifts.
I'd be happy to find them a home.
I don't think I can help with the clothing...actually charon54 is giving away some maternity clothes, maybe FM her.

Also I have baby boy clothes to donate if you know what she's having/when baby is due!!!

I would love to help out if we can.....I'll ask Mike if he has anything to get rid of....he's a 33x34, but maybe your friend can fit in them? He definitely has some shirts we can get rid of....it's just a matter of getting him to go through what is packed away in our basement! I might not have everything gathered for another week (we have a busy weekend ahead!), but I'll let you know what we have!! As someone who was effected by a fire (my childhood home burnt down when I was 5) I know how devastating it can be...I lived with relatives for 9 months (separately from my parents!) while they searched for a new house for us.....I hope your friend's family will be back on their feet in no time!

I talked to the lady and she is OK if I give you the clothes.
My clothes were for a Summer delivery. With capris, etc...
Let me know if you want them depending on when she is due.
