Re: family party with a 1 month old
nope
not with the swine flu/flu going around
ETA: With my first son he was out and about everywhere when he was born. A party at one week old. A christening at 4 weeks....but, that was a different time. I wouldn't take the risk. Keep your DH home with the baby and go to the party, or get a babysitter!

I would. Keep DC in the infant seat snapped into the stroller and don't let anyone hold the baby. I wouldn't miss a family party but that's just me.

Re: family party with a 1 month old
Generally I would say yes, but there are a bunch of things going around, not the least of which is the flu. I would err on the side of caution and skip.

I was thinking of just doing that, keep her in the infant seat snapped into the stroller, she'll be sleeping the entire time mostly and I just wouldn't have anyone hold her. I have already been out and about with her.

Re: family party with a 1 month old
When DS was 6 wks old I brought him to a family party and just didn't let anyone hold him except for DH and I. That said, he was born in August and, honestly, if he were one month old right now I would not take him. Everywhere I go everyone seems sick - the swine flu is rampant and there are a lot of other colds/viruses going around so, no, i wouldn't right now.

Re: family party with a 1 month old
When Ryan was 6 weeks we brought him to a wedding. No one held him except DH and I and DH's 2 siblings. He was fine.

Re: family party with a 1 month old
It's probably fine but I'm very conservative about things like that and I would not. Also, I would not look forward to spending the whole time saying no to people who want to pass my baby around.
