Not sure what the FM's all about but, like all other neighborhoods, it has it's good and it's bad areas. But it's very up and coming. All new construction in many of the areas. I have family who live in Farmingdale and happen to like the area very much. Very family oriented and friendly and the schools are not bad at all.

Yes, that's Farmingdale (22). There's also Half Hollow Hills. There are some rough areas but like I said, you will find that in ALL towns.

Remember, in Farmingdale, there is the village of Farmingdale, South, East, and there's also parts that are Nassau and Suffolk. It's a very big town. I definitely suggest that you drive around and check out the area and see what best suits you.

Good luck.

Yes, that area is lovely. So is Melville Court.

Very true. I've heard many harsh things about Levittown as well although I don't agree with them.

I'm sorry. I don't know what you are talking about. I said that I liked Levittown! I didn't say anything bad about it at all! I'm just saying that you can always believe what you hear and you have to go out and see for yourself.

Thats funny cause my wife doesn't think too highly of Commack.

But she considers Hauppague to be very nice.

Everyone has their opinions i guess. Chat Icon

Definitely agree on all counts - especially the last one Chat Icon

But I prefer towns that have a Main Street - I don't like areas that are too densely populated.

Yes, I agree with you on that point. Very true. I guess it just goes with what you are looking for and what your likes and dislikes are.

For the record, I grew up in Farmingdale and still have family that lives there and I happen to have had a wonderful childhood and youth there and absolutely loved every minute of growing up there. Would not have changed it one bit.

That was my reason for wanting to know why.

Who knows. Some people are very misinformed I guess. Chat Icon

When we first started looking in Levittown... and I suggested looking in Wantagh... my wife thought Wantagh was "ghetto". After investigating this for herself... she found it was quite the opposite.

LOL
