Fashion for me
I don't care how comfortable something is, if it is ugly then I feel UNcomfortable in it.

Re: Fashion Vs. Function
I take function over fashion. Comfortable doesn't have to be ugly.

Re: Fashion Vs. Function
See my problem is that I have shoes for both.
I have all my "fashion" shoes, which some hurt like heck, but they look good. I definitely suffer for fashion!
Then I have my comfy "function" shoes. They feel good, I don't care who likes them or not. These are usually my weekend shoes.
I cover all bases, and my closet and storage unit are filled with my shoes.

function
what's the point of wearing high fashion shoes if they're going to pinch my feet and cause me to have bad feet later in life?
I love shoes, but I won't wear ANYTHING if it is uncomfortable.

I'd definitely rather fashion over function but I work with kids so I like to mix it up a bit!

I completely agree!
I would rather be comfortable then getting blisters or what not on my feet from wearing some uncomfortable but fashionable!!!

function. I buy stylish things that are functional. If I buy things that are uncomfy, they just end up sitting in my closet.

Re: Fashion Vs. Function
I try find outfits that are both.
I love heels, but the new flat trend is making my feet very happy!!!
Even in the most fashionable outfit, If I am uncomfortable, I feel gross.

Re: Fashion Vs. Function
It will be a cold day in hell when I choose fashion over function.
I'm not out there to look better than someone else, and I don't give two $hits if you have designer jeans or not.
It's called "DOWN TO EARTH".
Again, JMHO!!!

Totally agree!!!
I'm a teacher. My SIL is not. Whenever we go shopping, you have to see what she picks out for me. I have to remind her 200 times that most of the stuff wouldn't fly with my principal NOR the parents!!! Therefore, heels are great, but 4 inch leopard print heels are not.

wrong post to try to make your point.
i don't think designer jeans would fall in the uncomfortable category.
and there are plenty of pointy-toed shoes in target

agreed. not sure what your point is- is it maybe spending too much money on high end goods is a waste?
anyway, i dont look good to impress othesr, i look good to impress myself! that makes ME feel good if I think I look good.
and if im rocking Joes jeans or Forever 21 jeans its all the same- as long as they feel good, are flattering and comfortable, i still call that function.

rolleyes: Therefore, heels are great, but 4 inch leopard print heels are not.
I just got those this weekend
they were on sale and I tried to wear them today- but they were too high for my pants by 1/2 inch
like I said- fashion first- they looked cute with skinny jeans

I'm simply stating my opinion. I personally don't care what it is that a person is "rocking", be it overly priced jeans or shoes for that matter, it's not something that I would waste MY money on. If I didn't own a house and had money to blow, then maybe I'd burn my money on "rocking" material things. I'm a big girl now with responsibilities and buying $200 jeans (or whatever else one excessively spends money on) is not on the top of my list of priorities.
Again, JMHO.
I DO know people who just buy things to impress others, and was not directing this at EVERYONE who spends money on expensive things.

Re: Fashion Vs. Function
you can buy clothes for function and still spend alot of money
or you can buy fashionable clothes and spend very little
I don't spend alot on trendy stuff-
but price has nothing to do with the question

I think what the girls are saying is that the amount of money spent on an item is irrelevant.

You're going way off-topic with this post.
This post is not about spending habits.
