This is a good point too. I'm more likely to rought it out for a function, but at work, i just dress very blah. i want to change it but i feel like i've become a creature of habit.

you can dress comfortable and still fashionable at the same time
I think it's easier in the spring- my spring clothes are so much more colorful and fun compared to what I wear to work in the winter

true! even if i dress cute, i still end up wearing a big bulkey sweater over it because its always freezing in my office.
i think my worst area of 'function' winning out is when it comes to Shoes. i have some HOT pairs of shoes, but they sit in my shoe rack as i wear myplain loafers because they're so comfortable.
its weird too, i used to be able to run in 4 inch heals without flinching... now i whine when i start to break the 1 and a half inch plateau

Re: Fashion Vs. Function
I never wear my shoes to work
I wear slip on sneakers, boots or flip flops depending on the weather
then put my heels on when I get to the office
that way- you are actually saving your shoes from harsh conditions and if you run errands after work- you don't have to worry about hurting your feet
and I can walk alot faster to get my errands done!

function - I do not do trendy - I always buy a couple of trendy things and try to make them work - but i would much rather be comfortable - unfortunately there have been a couple of bad shoe incidents

rolleyes: Therefore, heels are great, but 4 inch leopard print heels are not.
I just got those this weekend
they were on sale and I tried to wear them today- but they were too high for my pants by 1/2 inch
like I said- fashion first- they looked cute with skinny jeans
They are totally cute too!!! I'd get a pair, but my point before was that I wouldn't have too many opportunities to wear them. Leopard print and first graders...
You should see what my SIL tries to get me to purchase! She forgets that I have a JOB that requires some sense of prudence!

I am kind of between girl, while I like fashionably pieces I also need to be comfortable. I won't deny buying shoes that looked cute but hurt my feet.

Function, with a hint of fashion. Too much fashion means trendy and that I try not to be.

I don't chose between them, it's possible to have both. I love fashion, but I'll never be that idiot walking through Disney in heels or lounging poolside in a suede bathing suit and heels.

Aww, come on, no suede bikini??? You don't actually swim in it anyway! It's perfect with caked on makeup on hot humid August days!

Re: Fashion Vs. Function
I love to be in fashion but I can't stand things that are uncomfortable. If its uncomfortable, I wont' get it no matter way. I don't believe in suffering for fashion. Comfortable doesn't mean unfashionable. So I like function fashion too.
