Favor for a 5 year old party
This is the first year my daughter wanted a party outside of the house and to invite friends (she just started pre-k this year). She wants a bowling party and I'm trying to see what most people think the best favor would be. I personally hate those little goody bags full of dollar store stuff but I know many kids like them. What do you think would be the best favor to give? The party will have kids whose ages range from 2-8. Please let me know if you have better suggestions! TIA!

I generally like the food option because it's one less "thing" that has to sit around our house. But, DS has a nut allergy, so I worry about the cookie option. Just something to consider.

Favor for a 5 year old party
I prefer an edible favor, but I think kids really love all the "stuff". I voted for a bag with things in it.

Re: Favor for a 5 year old party
i voted cookie but I would also give something small the kids would like to play with so they aren't disappointed though I am sure in the long run they wouldn't even notice.
DD 5th birthday was bowling but it was barbie themed. I got the girls barbie favor cups; ring lollipop a bowling pin straw (which I should have extra of and if I can find them you are more than welcome to them free if you are near by me there arent a ton ), I made bowling pin chocolate lolipops (actually my friend did them for me cause she had the mold only reason why I did that) a tin play dough with a toll that went with it (got a really good deal on them during black friday) and the main favor was a hair clip I had made with barbie on them
for the boys I did army themed cup and instead of a hair clip I got them zipper pulls made with an lego army guy on them.
For my DD 6th birthday troll themed ( I got them all troll cookies silly string ring lolipop and troll pez despinser, troll veggie sticks and troll fruit snacks and they were put in cute troll bags I found on amazon
I definitely tend to go overboard but I usually get good deals but I will say each favor cost me at least $4 if not more per one but I feel like I get a bunch of little crap it ends up being the same amount.

Re: Favor for a 5 year old party
I went old school last year and did goody bags like we used to get...you know with like dots on the paper that you ate half the paper, pixie sticks and tootsie pops and all that crappy candy. They were a huge hit and they weren't too expensive. I think I put tatoos or stickers in there too.

Favor for a 5 year old party
Just skip the favor all together. By the time my son gets home from the party, he has completely forgotten all about the favor, craft or cookie. And then it all just sits in my car until it gets tossed.
I do favors and drive myself crazy every party. Then I forget to even give them out. Ugh.

Favor for a 5 year old party
My son is only 3.5 but he loves those little bags of crap.
Personally I would prefer the book, but the kids love that crap.

I'd love the book. My 5 year old would like the bag of mixed stuff even though most of it winds up getting tossed within 24 hours.

Bag 'o crap for the win!
As much as we dislike them, kids love them.

Re: Favor for a 5 year old party
I skip favors and spend the $ on something extra for the party.
If it's not a drop off party... for a bowling party, I'd get a few pitchers of beer for the supervising adults (if timing is appropriate, of course).
Kids won't remember favor and the excitement is only 10 seconds for bag o stuff. Most of those bags are in the back of my car somewhere...

Re: Favor for a 5 year old party
The last party we were at they kids got markers and a coloring book and they loved it. The party before that was a book which they also loved. There were wonderwoman books for the girls and a superman one for the boys. Both kids were super happy with that.
I've also done kites and bubbles which work out well for Spring birthdays.

My kids love the little bags!
Went to a party yesterday and it was a personalized water bottle with stuff inside. They slept with the water bottle lol
