Is anyone else feeling nervous, scared about becoming a mom either for the first or 2nd time?
As some of you know this is going to be my 2nd child. My son is 16 and now I am expecting a daughter in August. I am very excited, but at the same time I am so scared. I think reality is finally hitting me that I am going to be a mom again and I'm worried about so many different things. My first child wasn't born under the "best circumstances" (father and I weren't together and weren't exactly cool with each other). Of course that has changed and we are the best of friends now. Experiencing this with DH was really like the "first time" and it has been so much fun and I'm glad I got to experience this with him. He's been wonderful!
I got married in October to a GREAT MAN and whom I love dearly, but I am so worried that things are going to change between us. I mean granted, they won't be the way they were (re: freedom to go on dates etc), but I'm just scared that it's going to change in general. I didn't think I'd feel this way, but I do and I wonder if it has anything to do with the fact that:
1 - I am alot older 2 - It's been 16 years since I've done this.
Is that crazy?
I find myself terrified at the thought of going through labor again, to the point where I want to make out a will (just in case). I know it's silly to have these thoughts, but this is how I've been feeling lately.
While I can't wait to meet Milani, I can't help but wonder if I will be a good mom. Am I nuts?

I hear you! This is my first time, and we've tried and wanted for so long... now I wonder "Should we be doing this? Am I ready? Will I be a good mom? Will I have the patience?" And also will it change how DH and I are with each other? It's a bit scary at times.

I am first time PG and am PETRIFIED! I can't even immagine how it is going to change my life.. I just know that in 5 months... I know exactly how you feel, and I am SO scared that I don't even have the room to be excited...

I wouldnt really say that Im scared but I do have these moments of "WHAT THE HECK AM I DOING!!!!!!!!!!!"
We have this great life here where we can travel and do what we want..my eldest daughter can stay by herself..noones in diapers..these kids all spend time at their respective "other" parents houses...AND
now we are going to have one that never leaves!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
and then Im like...I am happiest when Im surrounded by all the noise that these kids make...
We decided to have another one b/c I didnt want to wake up 20 years from now and question whether or not we should of had one together..we knew we never would of questioned whether or not we did the right thing by having a baby..you fall so in love with them.

I can't say I've had feelings that make mem think what the heck am I doing, because I am truly excited about the idea of having the little girl I've wanted for so long. It just all seems so unreal.
I'm sure we all will be fine, but I have had some moments where I drive myself crazy with worry..

Re: Is anyone else feeling nervous, scared about becoming a mom either for the first or 2nd time?
This is my second pg and my first one did not go well so needless to say - I am terrified of things going wrong somehow. Most of this pg I was in denial about things but for the past 2 - 3 weeks I have become more and more worried. DH and I struggled with INF after losing our son and I have to say - he has been amazing and is so excited to meet his little girl.
I think even if we hadn't had things end badly with our son, I would be nervous due to our ages and starting our family so late in life. I know it's also completely normal as the pregnancy comes towards the end for fear and doubt to take over so I try and chalk most of it up to being "somewhat normal" (at least as normal as I can be )
