Feeling silly: Can you whistle?
DD has been trying to whistle recently and asking me to teach her so it made me wonder how many people can whistle.

My dad taught me when I was little and it really pizzed my mom off Possibly because she can't or more likely because she thinks whistling is impolite

I can.... and I whistle all the time, mostly without even realizing it.
I actually have people tell me that they are surprised when I am whistling because they don't hear girls whistle a lot.

Funny, my mom can't whistle either and used to quote my grandmother who claimed that "a whistling girl and a captain's cat will come to no good end".
I love that it annoyed your mom

I don't ever remember someone teaching me how to do it, though... I can do it inhaling and exhaling, but I'm louder inhaling.

Yes, but I can't make a tune very well. Single notes, or that sliding scale whistle I can do OK. DW is pretty good at whistling songs.
