Feminine Itch
I am 6 weeks pregnant and have been itchy. There is no discharge associated with it - just itchy. I'm chalking it up to a surge of hormones. Anyone else experience this? This didn't happen with my other pregnancies. Thanks!

Re: Feminine Itch
I did not experience this but I have heard of it.
Give a call to your OB's office - they'll likely tell you that it is common and might suggest something to help it. If there's no odor or discharge you should be fine but they'll tell you for sure.

I would call your OB. You can have a yeast infection with no discharge.

Thanks everyone. I just called but the office is closed. To the PP, when you had your yeast infection, did you take monistat? Is it safe?

I had a yeast infection early on with both pregnancies bc of hormonal inbalance. Monistat is fine but the 7 day one. My Ob said don't take the 1 or 3 day bc it's super strong

Thanks for info! I got an appointment tomorrow afternoon. I was hoping they would just say take monistat, but they want to see me. Ugh.

Re: Feminine Itch
they gave me a 3 day prescription cream. I actually had 2 this pregnancy but one was due to the fact I was already on antibiotics for a cold which caused the yeast infection. the second infection I knew right away, my crotch was on fire lol, it was crazy itchy where I couldn't even sleep. very annoying but they say women are prone to yeast infections when pregnant. I never get them normally and didn't have any with my first dd.

Sounds like a yeast infection which I had more than once during my pregnancy. I first started out with the 3 day prescription cream that came with an applicator so that you could really get it up there. After my first yeast infection, I asked instead for an oral antibiotic as I found the cream and application of it annoying and frankly hated feeling "squishy" down there throughout the day -- rather pop a pill.
