fence question-
I have an existing 6 ft fence and it is going to be replaced, after the wind storm yesterday the gate came flying down and just missed my car- and it is old. We were hoping to do this in the spring, but we are doing it in the next few weeks. If I have an existing fence there becuase there used to be a pool there years ago, and it is not there, do I need a permit for the new fence? I would think if it was exsiting there there would be no problem, right?

Re: fence question-
It depends on your town. In some towns even if it is a repair, it must have a permit and be up to code.
Such as let's say you had a chain link and it was there and all was fine. But now your town outlaws chain link, you could not replace the chain link just b/c it was there. You would need to put in whatever code says and get a new permit. But every town is different, where do you live?
