Fence Questions..

Is it weird to have chain link fencing on 1 side & stockade on the other sides? (there is already chain link on most of 1 side, we'd be finishing that side to the front)

Also, the house we are moving into has the original owners on 2 sides where there isn't fences... We are buying from another original owner I feel kind of bad that it's been all open for 55 years and now we are swooping in and putting up 6 ft stockade.. it will be changing the look of their yards too since they'll have to look at it. Is there etiquette I should be following as far as speaking to them first, etc?

Re: Fence Questions..

If you will be spending a lot of time in your yard you'll be glad you have the privacy. Maybe your new neighbors don't have the money for a fence and are nervous about who's moving in next door. I know when the woman we bought our house from put the house up for sale, our neighbors put up a fence because they didn't know who would be buying the house. Apparently the lady was upset about it, but the neighbors have every right, especially since she was moving out!

For now, the fence will just be for Pumpkin (eventually kids, hopefully).. but as awkward as I feel doing it, it is probably better to do right away before getting to know the neighbors. Otherwise they make take it personally
