ferber moms....how bad was the first night?

night one of ferber just started. we are 13 minutes in. i went in twice so far. it's killing me please be honest with me....how bad was night one? did your DC cry for hours??

ugh....DS is about to go out and buy some wine and red mango for us. this sux.

Ok so I went in 3X total and he was out cold after 25 minutes of screaming! I was prepared for 2 hours, so 25 minutes was not bad at all. He was really, really tired though, so lets see how tomorrow goes. Oh,and he almost gave me a heart attack at 19 minutes in......I happen to glance a the monitor and he was standing in his crib that has not been lowered yet!! He's never done that! He could have fallen out so easily. I've been telling DH for the past 2 weeks that he needs to lower the crib because DS is starting to pull him self up, but of course he didn't do it

night one is defintely horrible - you are not used to the crying.....my DD is 15 months and went from waking up 3-4 times per night and now once or not at all....but it's still not easy

It really does take 3 nights AND expect some regression about a week after that as he "tests" the waters. The first night is always the worst.

i have to do it for naps more than at bedtime. for naps its horrible. i have to put the radio as high as possible and go shower with the monitor b/c the sound of DS crying breaks my heart.
