FET questions
We are going for our FET consult soon and was wondering if there are specific questions that I should ask?
TIA

Re: FET questions
So exciting! Good luck!!
I just went for my FET consult and I didn't really have any questions except I just wanted to know if I could do a NATURAL CYCLE cause i need a break from the meds. Also found out you could refreeze embryos if you choose to thaw them and not use to transfer right away-

Re: FET questions
Thanks Lori. I know that when we had the m/c the dr mentioned estrogen patches but that was it.

Re: FET questions
My RE offered to transfer 3 for FET (only 2 for IVF fresh cycle). We declined and only transfered 2 for FET. Important things to consider are how your embies are frozen... are two in a straw? only one in a straw?
This effected us bc we only wanted to transfer 2. We had two of our better quality embryos, each in their OWN straw. Assuming only of of those survived the thaw, we still needed one more to transfer a total of 2. Our last 2 embies were in the SAME straw. That meant in the end we could have 3 embies survive the thaw and would have to decide to use all 3 embies or donate one of them to research.
So it is important to know this beforehand because you will need to sign of on what you want done. In the end our first two survived, so we did not touch the 2 in the same straw yet.
Natural FET may take more office visits for sonos since the have less control of your lining. I did medicated and will never do that again because the estrogen made me an emotional mess.
Good luck!

Oh wow, I didn't know this ! My RE said I could do this but did not seem to cheer too loudly about the success rates from the process. I suppose better quality embryos would fair better being refrozen though.

Yes, you can do this.
We did Microarray testing on all our frozen embies (new PGD type testing that tests ALL the chromosomes rather than just 13). They thawed all 6 and then refroze in separate containers the viable embies.
