Fever Virus
What’s the longest your child has ever had a fever virus?
DS1 came down with a fever last Fri night and had one Sat as well. Sun he was fever free so he went to school Monday. Mon night he had a fever and we had a snow day Tuesday so he stayed home. Tuesday and Wednesday he didn’t have a fever but was blah. Thursday, fever came back and he has it again now... His temp is normal all day and come 6pm, it’s between 101-102...
The longest we’ve ever had before is 5 days and now we are on day 8. Maybe it’s two different bugs?
We’ve seen the doctor twice and urgent care once and ruled out ear infection, flu and strep. He’s coughing a lot and is congested. Going for bloodwork Monday if this continues. He was more himself today but the fever came back like clockwork at 6pm.
Thanks!

Fever Virus
Jillian had a fever last saturday and Wednesday afternoon it was about 99, then Thurdsday was her first full day without a ever. Hers would come back every 4-6 hours. Middle of the night was usually the highest. THis winter has been horrible for my kids and getting sick. I really didnt think it was gonna end

Fever Virus
My daughter pretty much only gets fever viruses. It started last winter when she was in K. And she’d be 103-104 for about 4 days straight. And she’s get it again every 2-3 weeks like clockwork. I must’ve brought her to the ped 3x and each time it was just viral. Needs to run its course. My daughter has it again right now for the first time this year. We are on day 3. I now know how my daughter operates so I’m not stressed out as much as I was last year.
I don’t like how you said it goes away for a little and then comes back again. Seems like a very short time span for that to happen.

Yesterday it peaked at 2:30. He was playing xbox and then stopped because he was upset about something and sure enough- fever. But that was the only time yesterday and it was shorter and he was more himself so I’m hoping we are on the mend.
ETA - sorry that you daughter goes through all that!

Fever Virus
My son was very prone to them, sometimes they would last as long as 10 days. It seemed like one year he would miss a week of school every 3 weeks. Hope that he is feeling better now.

Thanks! It ended up being 8 days and he’s recovered nicely. Our main concern was the length (we hadn’t ever had one over 5 days) and the fact he wasn’t eating.

Glad to hear he's better! My younger son gets them. Ugh! The worst. I cringe when we go to the Ped and they say virus. I wish it's strep or something he can take meds for. He's 7 and had it 3 times already. Once over the summer and missed a week of camp. Lots of vitamins and elderberry!
