Finding a schedule for all of this therapy!

How do you do it?

Right now we're scheduled to be doing
EI - once a week 2 hours
ABA - 2 times a week for 2.5 hours
Playgroup - once a week for 2 hours
OT - Once a week for 1 hour
Speech - 2 times a week for 2 hours.

What are your schedules and how to you fit it all in with naps/downtime/etc..?

Re: Finding a schedule for all of this therapy!

I was a SAHM during the week so it really became a FT job or felt like it.

I would never compromise on his naps which was around lunch time.

We would start between 8:00am and 9:00am. We would stop by 11:30am latest. And not start until 2:30pm-3pm earliest.

Most Therapists like morning schedules. But you will not be able to please everyone.

So try not to overwhelme your DC with craming everything into 1 day. It's best to have regular therapies every day.

Are you working or will the therapies done at daycare?

Re: Finding a schedule for all of this therapy!

I'm home now - so it's only a matter of not getting my DS totally fried.

I'm definitely spacing them out as much as I can but some things have to fall on the same day (like EI and one of his ABA sessions..) It's alot to toss at a little guy. I guess we'll have to judge how it's going by how he is reacting....

Re: Finding a schedule for all of this therapy!

My only advice is to space them but leave yourself some free afternoons and/or mornings.

We had so many therapies so I tried to have some afternoons off. Especially for the Summer.

You want to be able to have free time to still enjoy.

DS is now in pre-k FT (9-3) and gets all of his services there...Thank Goodness!

My DD is still home with me and here is her schedule:

Mon:
OT 9-10AM

Tues:
PT: 8-845AM
Special Ed: 10-11AM
Feeding: 11:30-12:15PM

Wed:
OT: 9-10AM
Speech: 10:15-11AM

Thurs:
Same as Tues, no feeding.

Fri:
Speech: 9:15AM-10AM
Mommy & Me (social group) 11AM-12PM

We are in the process of adding swimming on Saturdays from 10-1030AM

My BIGGEST thing was "All services must be done by noon if possible"
I have a GREAT coordinator and ALL of DDs therapists were awesome with scheduling her sessions for the mornings. Chat Icon

Sometimes we do have "make up" sessions late in the afternoon. They take place after her nap and after I am home from picking DS up at school!
