Finger foods question- picky little witch editted w/new ?
She will eat: bananas, avocado, Cheerios, spaghetti. That is it.
I gave her turkey franks tonight, diced pears at lunch. Neither went well- she played with them and put maybe one piece near her mouth. This is par for the course it seems with ANY food. I'm assuming I should just keep offering new foods to her over and over and eventually she'll eat them?
She still eats baby food with no problem.
ETA:OK- so here's my next question. Do I offer the offending foods WITH her favorite foods, or just offer them alone? Should I continue to give her baby food, or should I stop to "make" her start eating more finger foods (that sounds so harsh!).
I am really at a loss at mealtimes so thank you for any and all replies.....

Re: Finger foods question- picky little witch
I just at your "picky little witch". I'm sorry.
Anyway, I just keep giving my piggie everything, a new fave here is Gardenburgers and pineapple. And I also noticed I need to let him sit with it for a while so that he can eat slowly and everything can be cool.
Also, we got these little dipper dealies and he loves them and I think he eats more when they are the ray with him.

Re: Finger foods question- picky little witch
my ds will be a year on the 9th and he is soooooo difficult with ffod.
he'll eat peeled blueberries, peeled and cut grapes, banana, watermelon, avocado smushed with applesauce, puffs, cherrios, mum mums, tiny pieces of pasta and sauce.
he used to eat a slice of white american cheese, peeled peas, lentils, and diced carrots but won't anymore.
he doesn't want to try anything and if i get it in his mouth he'll spit it out.
he eats mostly jarred food and yobaby but even that is a fight. he barely eats 3/4 of a stage 2 jar.
i just keep wasting food by offering it to him hoping he'll eat it and like it.

Re: Finger foods question- picky little witch
Keep introducing the same gfood even if they reject them at first. It takes about 15 times before they will actually want to eat them. I know, so annoying. My DD is the same way. She does not want baby food any more so we are getting by on yogurt, oatmeal raisin cookies, and cheese. today she liied the fish sticks and had cut up watermelon and cantolope.

Re: Finger foods question- picky little witch
I give DD cut up chicken nuggets, cut up waffles/pancakes, little raviolis and pieces of cheese. She had little pieces of pizza for the first time today and LOVED it.

Re: Finger foods question- picky little witch
Just keep offering bits of the offending foods. Eventually she'll try them and see that she likes them...
I fell into the trap of only giving my girls the foods that they wanted to eat..yogurt, cheese, bread, pasta, chicken nuggets, and corn...well for years they would eat little else.
I finally said enough is enough and started feeding them more variety. I just kept at it. Now they eat a ton of different foods.
I have also learned that by only offering one or two pieces of foods keeps things from seeming so daunting for them and that they will be more likely to try them.

Picky little witch Tell us how it really is
No advice here, DD is pretty darn picky too (although she has been getting slightly better, not to jinx us )

I just noticed that your DD isn't even a year old yet, so I wouldn't stress and just continue to feed her baby food if that's what she likes.
