New Mom Breastfeeding question
I was originally on the fence about breastfeeding. I tried it at the hospital and my experience was very negative and I decided to stop and bottle feed formula. My milk came in two days ago and I have been trying to make the engorgement go away.
I would really like to try again but pump and bottle feed. Has anyone done this? Is it too late now? I am still very engorged so I am sure there is something there.

I believe LiBound does this. Do a search for her screen name, I am sure if you FM her, she can help.

Are you asking if you can b/f AND formula feed? If so yes you can, I have done it. Hurry and start pumping before you dry up..lol..

Re: New Mom Breastfeeding question
I'm pumping breast milk into bottles for DS- he's 3 weeks old today! I tried BFing in the hospital as well, but DS ended up being the victim of "nipple confusion" because the NICU kept giving him formula. When DH and I brought him home, he still wouldn't latch so I've been pumping into bottles and bottlefeeding DS breast milk. (We talked to about 5 different LCs and they all told us that DS is a lazy latcher.)
I don't think it's too late for you to pump into bottles though. The more you pump, the more milk you should produce. Even though I wish DS would latch, I figured at least he's still getting my breast milk even though he's getting it through a bottle
The only pain is that you have to spend extra time pumping and washing bottles between feedings. On the flip side, DH is now able to take part in feeding DS- which is helpful so that I can sleep a little!
