Fire Island for the day with the kids....
Any suggestions on what to do? I haven't been there since I was a kid and I am even too young to remember it. Thanks!

I used to go all the time when I was a teenager but dont remember much for the kids other than the beach. I could be wrong though. I can ask my friends...they still go.

Unless you have a place to stay I would think with 2 kids and no place except the local bars to clean up it might not be that fun. Unless you just want to stay at the beach all day and grab a bite to eat. Which part were you planning to go to?

I would just take the ferry to Sailor's Haven for the day and hang out at the beach. That's pretty much it.

Ocean Beach has a little town you can walk around in and have lunch...Sailor's Haven/Sunken Forest has the Forest and a snack bar. I would assume you are going for the beach more than anything....

I remember LOVING the sunken forest as kid. You can just run and run on those wooden walkways through the woods!
