First Aid Question

When do you know if you need stitches?

I cut my finger this morning, bandaged it & changed the bandage twice. Just took it off to dry it out, but noticed it's still bleeding a little bit.

I don't want to ask DH because he'll think I'm being a baby about it. He's gotten major gashes that heeled.

I sliced a big chunk of my thumb a few years ago and used bandaids to close it.
It bled for a little over a day, but when it healed there was no scar at all.

I think if it's a head wound or really deep cut, stitches are necessary...but a slice will usually heal on its on.

It finally stopped bleeding, but ow, ow, ow, ow, OW!
