Re: First baby - early, late or on time?
Early
C/S all the way !!! Breech
Could NOT be happier. I wanted nothing to do with pushing her out at all. She obliged.
Her C/S was set for 9/2 she was due a week later from that. My water broke 8/21 and she was born 8/22.
To ditto another poster.. thank GOD 37w is considered full term.
Ironically she was early nearly to the DAY that I was early. I was due 9/10 and born 8/20, she was due 9/8 and born 8/22.
ETA: because my father has missed EVERYONE's birth because we've all been early, I just assumed she'd be early. They said modern science is better and the dates are closer but I had a feeling. I kept worrying she'd come before my Dad arrived. He flew in 8/21, and I relaxed. That night my water broke. LOL I guess I just had to calm down.

Those that were induced how fast is it scheduled. I go in tomorrow, will he say let's do it tonight? Tomor?
they typically will wait the week before scheduling you. unless something is wrong they wont do it immediately. once you are late, you will need to go for non stress tests every 2-3 days until your scheduled induction date. they will use the fetal heart monitor to measure its heart beat and to check to make sure the baby is moving enough. then they do a sonogram to check fluid levels, babys size etc...if those come out ok they will stick to your induction date...if they have any concerns they will then schedule you sooner
i was scared of being induced bc i didnt want a csection so i told my doctors my concern. she wanted to schedule me to be induced 8 days late bc of the estimated weight of dd (8lb14oz). thankfully the hospital was booked and said we had to wait until 11days (well i could have had it sooner but wanted a specific doctor). Turns out DD wanted to come out on that 8th day anyway so it all worked out.

Early - I was due 5/17 and he was born 5/6 at 38w3d. Thank goodness because I couldn't take being pregnant anymore, my belly weighed a lot.

Re: First baby - early, late or on time?
1 week early - my water broke. Didn't go into labor though, so I had to be induced and it went smoothly. I think it went so well because I had an amazing epidural and I didn't really complain much...I just let the pitocin do its job and by the time the doctor came in to check me (about 12 hours after the start of pitocin) the baby's head was literally RIGHT there and I only had to push for 20 minutes before she was out.

LATE- 10 days..... went into labor on my own... ended up with a c-section after 31 hours of labor. Pitocin did not help my situation, at all.

Re: First baby - early, late or on time?
Right on time. My membranes started rupturing at work the day before my due date. I went to L&D, and ended up being induced. Over 24 hours later, on my due date, DD was born.

First baby - early, late or on time?
I was 4 days late with my first and went into labor on my own, was given pitocin when I stalled at 3/4cm and delivered vaginally not long after that. It was a similar story with my second, but I was 9 days late, 6cm when they started pitocin, and delivered vaginally VERY quickly.

Re: First baby - early, late or on time?
DD was born on her due date.
It can happen VERY quick. I was at the dr the night before and I was 2cm (like I had been for a few weeks) and the next night it was time and it moved along quickly, 14 hours total.
