First birthday food schedule Q...help
DD's first birthday party is on Sat. We've been going back/forth on what to do re: food.
Party starts at 3pm
Choice 1: Have hot dogs/hamburgers, fries, cold salads, beans when guests arrive (10-15 minutes after they arrive)
Then have main course: ziti, sausage & peppers, pasta salad, nuggets for kids later on (hour-2 later)
OR:
Have everything all at once about an hour 1/2 after everyone arrives?
Also, look at the food choices, would you add anything? Do you think a hero is necessary?
Thx.

Re: First birthday food schedule Q...help
I would serve everything at once and about an hour after everyone arrives. I think if you do it in stages no one is going to end up eating your main course.

Re: First birthday food schedule Q...help
I would skip the burgers and dogs and just go with a hero and some salads. Less work, less mess!

I would also serve everything at once about an hour after the invite time. Have chips/veggies/app type foods out so people can snack as they arrive though.

I have to say I agree w/ this so DH could relax instead of cooking, etc....but I don't think my DH will go for it.

ITA. Most people will stuff themself with hotdogs and burgers and leave no room for your main course.

Re: First birthday food schedule Q...help
Hey Cin,
Gavins birthday party is next Saturday and we are doing similar food. We are getting a 6 foot hero tho just in case. Our party starts at 3 but i'm assuming people will start coming around 3:30..i'm starting to cook the hamburgers/hotdogs around 3:30 and then putting the rest of food out around 4:15. Everything together and people can graze etc. I"m not worring about putting things out at seperate times..too much work!!!
P.S. the only reason to do hamburgers/hot dogs is because someone else is grilling so DH and I can enjoy..otherwise we would skip that
