first cycle after m/c - did you TTC?

i have heard tons of people say that you are super fertile and that they conceived in the first cycle after m/c.

heres some quick background - DH (30) and I (29) have been TTC for 13 months. was d/x with PCOS in november. seeing Dr. B. originally he was treating me for ovulation induction only. first cycle on injectables/femara i hyperstimmed. second cycle was a chemical which i thought was a fluke. third cycle we got a BFP and first beta of 42 but second beta only went to 46 two days later. then started to drop. got AF at about 23DPO. thrombo workup came back that i have P4/P5 polymorphism to be treated with lovenox and prednisone.

anyway so i am 1 week into the 4-6 weeks that dr. b told me to wait to start the next cycle. he actually said to wait a full cycle but since my ovulation is erratic, if i dont O on my own he said to just wait 4-6 weeks. anyway i have a feeling i am going to O on my own in a normal time frame (generally when i do O on my own its CD32+ so poor egg quality). right now i am just on metformin and nothing else, and i just started accupuncture. i usually temp but i stopped this cycle since its supposed to be a break cycle.

my rational mind says listen to dr. b and dont TTC. he said to wait a cycle... the irrational impulsive part says that if i see EWCM and TTC without meds. BUT then the rational part comes back and says don't do it cause if you conceive without lovenox or prednisone theres a chance you could m/c or chemical again and then you'd be right back where you are right now..

obviously i know the smart answer is to wait.. i just really think it would be so nice to not have to do another meds round to conceive. i know its silly and i will most likely just listen to dr. b, but its so hard to not TTC when ive been trying for so long .

what do you girls think?? am i crazy to even consider trying this cycle? anyone been in a similar situation? what would you do?

honestly I would wait a cycle. Your body is different after a MC. My cycles are all over the place and I am in the middle of my 3rd cycle.

I never had my beta checked because I had a DNC a week after I found out at almost 9wks there wasn't a hearbeat.

Both my sisters' also had a MC and waited 2-3 cycles before trying again.

After having my second m/c they told me to wait 2 cycles before trying. However the first m/c they said it was fine to TTC after I got AF.

Have you started taking the prednisone and lovenox yet? I would prob wait until you have started everything.

I know I was impatient too, I wanted to start before I even got my period. DH WOULDN"T so No for me until we waited the 2 months.


I know you are in a rush, that's normal. I felt the same way.
I would just wait another month and follow Dr. B. You can still be very fertile for the first 3 months after a m.c.

So hopefully it will happen again soon!

After my MC i waited until i got my first period. I know they say your super fertile. I dont believe that. We concieved originally seriouly on the firsttry. But after MC & first cycle we tried twice & it didnt happen. Anyway we have decided to wait until Aug. Sept now. So we shall see. But i dont think its as easy as everyone says.

I think my body was so out of wack after the MC ...i also beleive that fertile afterwards is BS but what do i know!

I waited one cycle- I miscarried on 3/3 and then conceived DC on 4/25.
I did get AF on my own 4 weeks after the miscarriage (I also have PCOS and very erratic cycles).

ETA: I didn't even know about my clotting issues until I was already pregnant. I started with lovenox when I was about 5 weeks.

I would wait but I got pregnant a few weeks after my MC.

I don't think you are crazy for wanting to try...but since you are seeing a specialist I would follow what he says..but that's just me...

I feel like if you did get pg (which would be great) then you would have the added stress of not knowing when you O'd or be able to time the pregnancy, so that could be lots of stress.

But only you can know what you are comfortable with.

thanks.. we arent going to really TTC this cycle. i dont really O on my own so i doubt i will even get the opportunity to TTC unmedicated anyway..
because i only O on my own infrequently, when I do O i am WELL aware that it's happening so i would def know when it happened!! also i have to go back to the RE in 2 weeks anyway so in the off chance that i did O, didn't know the date, and got preg, i would at least be within 2 weeks, because i know i havent Oed yet, and in 2 weeks i will have bloodwork and sono so if I did O prior, that would confirm it.

im more worried about the off chance of getting pregnant without treating my thrombophilia and then miscarrying again and being right back in the same situation that i am in now. that's why we wont really TTC this cycle, although we arent being careful either.

After my m/c I didn"t wait.. I know that your "not supposed to" but at that point I didn't really care.. and around the time that I was told that I would get AF after the D&C, I never did.. I took an HPT and it came up positive..they told me at first that it could be that my numbers weren't down yet and to come in.. low & behold I now have a 2 1/2 this is just my experience and I can't say to go either way b/c you don't want to do anything that can potentially harm you or a baby.. if you dont mind me asking - did you have anything that led to the original m/c? any blood clotting issues or anything that would need to be treated when you started your cycle?? thanks!

I started again as soon as the bleeding stopped. I got pregnant the 5th cycle after the miscarriage. In retrospect, the first 2 cycles after the m/c were very off. They were longer than usual & just not like my normal cycles.
