First Father's Day

list what you got him.
and a number on a scale of 1 - 10 that represents how much he deserved it.

Re: First Father's Day

This scale of yours... I assume 10 is the most and 1 is the least? Well that's how I'm applying it.

I got DH a picture of DD on a baseball from kiddie kandids.. 10 because I picked it.

and a personalized Mets jersey to go with.. 8 because he specifically asked for it. It would have been a 10 if I chose it on my own.

Re: First Father's Day

He got Mets tickets for Fathers Day so I'm not doing anything big.

I printed out a Father poem and I'm going to frame it so he can put it on his desk.

And I got him a mousepad with DD pics on it from Kiddie Kandids.

I think he'll like both so I'm saying about a 8/9ish.

I framed a photo of me and DS for him, it's one he has told me is his favorite.

I'll probably get him a box of Italian cookies from a bakery too (I don't like them, so they will be all his).

He deserves both, but I'm still very ****** at him at the moment. So maybe a 5?

Re: First Father's Day

I got him & DS a matching Tshirt and onesie.

DS's says "Little Fisherman" and DH's says "Big Fisherman"

I also got him a picture frame with a picture of DS on one side and a sappy Daddy poem on the other side.

Not the greatest gifts, but I'm not that creative.

On a scale of 1-10, DH deserves a 9 1/2. Not so much bc he's taken such great care of DS, but for taking such great care of me and keeping me sane and happy while I take care of DS. Although he does do a great job with DS when he's home.

I am so much more in love with him now that I see him as a Dad.

For DH's 1st Father's Day I got him a diaper bag from DadGear and a onesie for Lucas that said 'Daddy's Got My Back'

As far as how much he deserved it: 10+
Never in my wildest dreams did I expect him to go running at night to get the baby and tell me to sleep...he did it time and time Chat Icon

This year, for his second, I got him ties and a padfolio. He wanted the ties very much (as weird as it sounds it's his thing for Father's Day - he never got to get one for his Dad) and the padfolio is definitely something he never knew he wanted Chat Icon

And this year I'll rate his deserving a 10 (no plus because his busy season has been extended and I do it all right now - but he's still a great Dad)

Re: First Father's Day

all good gifts.
What would you get him if you were angry with him and rate him a 3?

board shorts and those new flip flop shoes?
bc that's what he got from me. I feel like he should get something more sentimental though.

tell him why you are angry.. Open communication is the best gift and then maybe you can get something friendlier!

Because anger only lasts a short while and the regret would last forever...I say look past it for your DC's sake and wrap the heck out of the present. Get a nice card.

Is the gift equal to the one you got for Mother's Day? If so great. If it's more....good for you for being better about the situation. If it's less...think a little more about what I said above. Chat Icon

word. My mother's Day gift was wonderful- exactly what I asked for. His time. He planned a lovely day that we spent together. His time is rare.
He also got a little book 1001 things it means to be a dad. But I want some "firts father's day" thing.

Re: First Father's Day

We agreed not to do big gifts anymore so I got him:
1/ The Willow Tree New Dad figurine
2/ A little frame that says Daddy & Me with lions on it (he calls Ryan - Ryan the Lion)
and I'll get him a few nice cigars since I didn't have enough time to get him them before Ryan was born

He deserves more, but I don't want him to feel that I disregarded our agreement since he just got me roses and dinner for Mother's Day (which was more than enough for me)

Re: First Father's Day

for his first father's day I was still mad at him for going to vegas for my first mother's day....so he didn't get much other than a card.

Overall though, he is a 9 (I subtracted a point for his extreme anal retentiveness)

I bought him and my DS two matching outfits consisting of a polo shirt and shorts.

I also bought him another pair of shorts and a shirt.

Then from my DS I am framing a poem with a bunch of pictures of him and my DS together.

I also bough him a box of chocolates from my son. He loves chocolate.

I give him a 10+ because I think he deserves all of it. I think he is a great father. He works so hard to support me and my DS. He also takes care of DS whenever he is home. He never expects me to do it all because I am a SAHM. I love him so much.

What "firsts" has your son yet to experience? Has he been to the park, to the beach? Maybe it would be nice for the family to share a special first for Max on the first Father's Day?

Has your son had a professional pic taken yet? Maybe his first could be a special Daddy and Me one?

Nevermind...I heart the handprint idea!!!!

Not sure where to get that plaster stuff but you can also use nontoxic craft paint or ink pad and stamp Max Power's handprints on a handmade card or something? Or on pretty paper you can frame and include a picture of Max and daddy in the middle?

He's getting the same thing I got...SQUAT! I am planning on making him a little something with Michael and I took his wedding band to have one of the diamonds replaced and re-dipped and polished...its a surprise so I hope he likes it...otherwise TOO BAD.

ETA: He is a great dad so he deserves it...but we have other priorityes now rather than gift giving.
