Re: First Father's Day
He got a picture frame for his office with him and Grace and their names in letter block- not sure how to describe it. Nothing big- but I was also still on maternity leave and money was tight.
This year I am working and have some more money, plus its DH's 40th next month. So he got the newest ESQ Movado watch for both occasions- he actually taped the ad on the wall in the kitchen as a hint He actually does deserve it more this year- he had no idea how to help with a baby but he is awesome with a toddler. He is definately a ten.

Re: First Father's Day
Chris is off the chart when it comes to being a dad. He has amazing patience with and helps me out tremendously in the evenings with him so I am trying to make his first Fathers Day special
1. Breakfast... only because I bought a new Belgian waffle maker that I need to test prior to next weeks Bridal Shower Brunch that I am hosting for my girlfriend 2. The same picture frame with sappy poem that I think Holly (Jambalady) bought for her DH 3. Homemade dinner of his choice - beef stroganoff (soooo tempted to just make the Hamburger Helper kind ) 4. "I love my Daddy" book that he can read to Athan 5. I created a photo montage DVD with pictures of him and I and him and Athan on OneTrueMedia.com 6. A massage at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel Spa.

Re: First Father's Day
For DH and DD to wear.
Also, a digital photo key chain loaded with pics and, non-sentimental, a new laptop backpack for work.
As for how he rates? 10-he is an awesome dad. If it were national husband day, around 8 lately. Image Attachment(s):

Re: First Father's Day
so far i got him a mousepad with DD's pic on it and a book called "daddy's girl". I want to get him a GC for golf too , but I'm having a hard time doing that since I can't really get there with DD. The golf I know he really wants so 10, plus it's his first father's day so no matter what he gets the day deserves a 10 !

Re: First Father's Day
I got DH a custom wooden frame from personalizationmall.com that says "My Daddy" at the top and then you give 7 words/adjectives that describe DH for them to engrave on the frame. At the bottom of the frame, it says "I Love You Very Much!" and DS's name.
I also combined it with an early anniversary gift (it's coming up at the beginning of July) and got DH a new set of cufflinks and a moneyclip, both engraved with his initials.

Re: First Father's Day
I am framing a photo of the kids in a Daddy frame for him and I videotaped the kids saying happy fathers day and why they loved daddy and what their favorite thing is to do with Daddy (My 3 yr olds stories were pretty funny)

Re: First Father's Day
DH is getting a Puegeot pepper mill (he LOVES pepper and he has been dying for a really good pepper grinder)... and a bottle of peppercorns.
I also ordered him a Pleepleus t-shirt (comes from a show called Three Sheets on Mojo HD channel that we love) and had a "Mini-Pleepleus" onesie made for DS... they can wear them together and only we will know what it is about because a lot of people haven't seen the show!
I want to get one more small thing, but haven't figured it out yet.. and I would rate DH a 10!

Re: First Father's Day
I didn't get him anything good. I have not been out of the house at all - last night we went to Target together and I managed to sneak away and buy something quick. I got a really cute card from DS, a book about Daddies and Sons for him to read to DS, and 2 onesies - one says "I love daddy" and the other says "My daddy is cool". I may also order him something online and just print the receipt for now - since I am stuck in the house OR I may ask my brother to pick up some golfing gift certs for him since I know he could use a break from me and DS
